- Prevent and treat common survival and environmental injuries using expedient measures 
- Practice field sanitation and hygiene to prevent illnesses 
- Care and use of clothing and equipment 
- Identify, construct, and use various man-made and natural shelters 
- Use basic survival knots 
- Appy fire building techniques to satisfy survival needs 
- Methods to procure, prepare, and store food and water sources 
- Select a recovery site, construct recovery signals, and use communication devices 
- Apply navigation methods to affect recovery.
